South Durham School of Dance students have qualified to take part in the IDTA Nationwide Finals for Freestyle and Rock ‘n’ Roll in November at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool and will be representing the IDTA North East Area at these Nationwide Finals.
Students have also qualified, in another separate competition, to take part in the IDTA Nationwide Street Dance Finals, representing the IDTA North East Area at these Nationwide Street Dance Finals in Stoke in March next year.
Students recently took part in the Regional Nationwide Qualifying Competitions, where they danced in some very large sections against other dancers in their age category, with some sections including more than 70 dancers. The North East Area is an incredibly hard area to compete in and to qualify for the Nationwide Finals each dancer had to be amongst the final 12 dancers in each age category and some of these went on to place in the Finals.
Caroline Race, Principal of South Durham School of Dance said “This is a huge of achievement and all students should be incredibly proud of themselves”.
