Dear Sir,
In response to last week’s letter by Ken Robson regarding the removal of the bridge connecting Whinlatter Place and Linden Place, Aycliffe West County Councillors Eddy Adam and Kate Hopper are responding to the concerns of local residents raised in recent weeks by conducting a survey throughout July involving more in depth conversations about their priorities in order to gauge the broad range of views held within the community. It is therefore disingenuous of Ken Robson to state that we are not keen on allocating the amount of public money required to cover the cost of a replacement bridge; nor are we asking residents to agree that a public amenity should not be replaced as part of a cost-cutting exercise.
Until we have had the opportunity to speak to as many residents as possible, we will remain impartial. For residents who are not at home when we call, please use the contact details on our calling cards to get in touch about this particular matter, or any other neighbourhood concerns you wish to bring to our attention.
Aycliffe West County Councillors Eddy Adam & Kate Hopper
