Dear Sir,
I would like your readers to know that I am standing as an Independent candidate for the Town Council, Woodham Ward and Durham County Council, Aycliffe North and Middridge.
I have lived in Woodham for thirty five years since taking up the post of part time Chief Coach for Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club.
I worked for thirty years for Durham County Council in the Architects Department as Senior Engineer Mech. Services. I took voluntary redundancy and, as self-employed, worked for Sedgefield Borough Council, Teasdale Council, the PCC and Woodham Academy. I still coach Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club.
Recent events that have taken place have not been dealt with in a satisfactory matter. It is my strongly held view that public interest should always be the number one priority. These events, linked with a genuine desire to serve the community in which I live, are the reason I’m standing for election.
The events of the past year have resulted in more people than ever cycling, walking and running and this has highlighted the need for more preventative maintenance to be carried out on our roads, paths and bridleways. I’m sure that you all will be able to add to this list.
I have a lot of good friends on the council and know that I could work with them to achieve the results that we all would like to see.
Sincere good wishes to you all,
John Moore, Independent Candidate
