Re article ‘Ex-councillor gets convicted paedophile removed’ in a recent issue of Newton News.
The article may have given the impression that local councillors did not act on their constituents’ concerns. In fact, the opposite is the case and they followed the well-established procedures we have in place with our partner agencies to deal with such sensitive matters.
Councillors Adam and Hopper did exactly the right thing and this helped us to resolve the situation without unduly adding to any concerns within the community.
