POLICE are looking to trace a cream coloured tractor involved in a collision with a car on the Sedgefield back road last Wednesday.
The collision happened around 4.30pm on Wednesday, 24th July and also involved a blue Ford Focus. It took place not far from the ‘Kings Arms’ at Great Stainton
The driver of the Ford Focus had pulled over when he saw the tractor driving towards him, as he could see it was carrying some sort of ploughing equipment and was wider than one lane of the road.
Unfortunately, as the tractor drove past it caused extensive damage along the side of the car. The tractor did not stop at the scene but police say the driver may not even have been aware of the damage that it caused.
Officers would like to speak to any other road-users who may have been travelling along the Sedgefield back road, between Stillington and Newton Aycliffe.
They believe the cream tractor was being closely followed by a red one so other vehicles were having to travel quite slowly behind them.
The officer dealing is PC 2522 Kate WARD, based at Newton Wycliffe. She can be contacted using the 101 non-emergency number for police.
