Sedgefield MP, Paul Howell, welcomed the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak MP, on a fleeting visit to the constituency’s biggest town on Friday 15th March, bringing him to well-known family printing business, Newton Press.
Paul Howell MP said: “It was great to welcome The Prime Minister to Newton Aycliffe, especially to Newton Press which is celebrating its 60th year in business after being opened in 1963 by Syd Howarth MBE. Having spent my entire career in industry, before I entered politics, I have always had a good understanding of small businesses like Newton Press and what they provide in terms of specialist service and jobs for the local community. I would like to congratulate Newton Press on their 60th Anniversary in business and its contribution to the area, including the continuous publication of Newton News, Newton Aycliffe’s community newspaper for 75 years.”
Paul Howarth, Director at Newton Press, said: “It is nice to be recognised and acknowledged for the work Newton Press continues to do for the local community as well as the many businesses, locally and nationally, that we support. The Prime Minister took a real interest in our work and the challenges and opportunities we face. I’d like to thank Paul Howell for his support and for bringing Rishi to learn about our business here in Newton Aycliffe.”
