The PLAY CAFÉ project is delighted to be working at Easter with two of our long-term supporters. Thanks to TESCO, for a donation of Easter Eggs for our pop-up Café event at the start of the school holiday. Shirley, Tesco Community Champion, has always been so helpful providing healthy fruit for the Café. The eggs will be used during our social activities.
The County Durham Food Bank supports us to provide healthy breakfast foods and some grocery basics for those families struggling to put enough food on the table in school holidays. They have also pledged some foods for Easter, and we thank them. This is despite an increased demand through Food Bank distribution points in County Durham and the North East generally. Donations to the Food Bank are much less at the present time, as all households are starting to feel the effects of rising prices. Please continue to donate a tin or packet in Food Bank collection bins, if you are able to do so.
PLAY CAFÉ would welcome donations of Easter Eggs, or other Easter Goodies, in preparation for our first pop-up on Monday 11 April, at NAYCC. Email aycliffeplaycafe@gmail.com or Text 07565 134194, to donate. Also, for Family Key Workers, please use those contact details to refer families at risk of Social Isolation in the holidays.
Thank you to TESCO and the Durham Christian Partnership’s Food Store, from PLAY CAFÉ. Trustees and Volunteers are always very grateful for the things we are given to help support families with school aged children. Finally a Thank You to Newton Press, for allowing us space in the Newton News and for the PLAY CAFÉ logo cards they printed for us to use.
