Aycliffe Photo Artist Elaine Vizor is a registered social worker and teacher. Since completing her Master of Arts degree in Photography in 2013, she has worked on University of Sunderland Foundation Degree courses at Bishop Auckland College and most recently at Sunderland College with a group of inspiring students, completing their Foundation Degree in Applied Photography.
This has been invaluable experience and mutably enhancing and rewarding working with mature students, supporting them to achieve their goals.
‘She shall be called Woman’, is an exhibition at Greenfield Gallery from Wednesday 1st July at 6pm. it draws together work that is an exploration of portraiture as a means of creating images that represent women over fifty.
Elaine said: There is something about the extraordinariness of ordinary people that I want to highlight. We can’t all be famous, or classically beautiful, but we can all be valued for who we are.
This current exhibition includes the journey of ideas and images that led to my final MA Photography show entitled ‘Now You See Me’, this includes a portrait shortlisted for the Taylor Wessing 2014 Portraiture Prize which is still on tour with that exhibition.
