Dear Sir,
Finally we are now registered, with The Financial Control Authority (FCA), as The Phoenix Club. We received confirmation of their approval to change our name as of the 19th May 2016.
We had a special meeting way back on Sunday 26th July 2015 where it was voted on and passed to disaffiliate from The Royal British Legion (RBL). It took until the 4th March this year before the RBL agreed which held us back in trying to register our name change.
To change our name we needed permission from the RBL because it was in their rule book, so no thanks to the RBL for holding out so long. If they had not been so greedy in THEIR
subscriptions going up annually to this year being £16 we may still have been the RBL.
As the saying goes all good things are worth waiting for, so come on down all you new members and potential new members, it’s only £6 to join, and enjoy the facilities of our club including our entertainment nights, karaoke, bingo nights and line dancing and not forgetting the Restaurant which is available at lunch times and will cater for any function.
