This weekend the Food Bank will be making a major collection at the store and customers will be invited to donate certain items made available on special offer by Tesco.
The collection will run on Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 5pm. and is part of the regular events supported by Tesco Stores all over the Country.
These collections go to the main Foodbank store in Chester le Street for distribution to volunteers at branches in County Durham including Newton Aycliffe.
Any other collection in the town, including the permanent bin in Tesco’s, will go direct to the Newton Aycliffe Food Bank which operates from St. Clare’s Church.
