The summer is nearly here, World Cup, Athletics Championships and many more summer sporting events will be soon on our TV’s and before we know it we will be heading towards the winter months.
Also starting in the summer will be Shildon Centre Stages next production which is the superb pantomime, “Dick Whitington” as we follow Dick and his loveable cat, Tommy all the way to the city of London.
Many of you would have seen many a panto whether it be when you were a kid yourself or even now, taking your own family to join in all the fun.
Shildon CentreStage is an adult theatre community group based at the Shildon Civic Hall and we are looking for fun loving adults who would love to join in the fun we have in putting a great panto together. The group are looking for new members to join our family of cast, crew and great friends for this superb comedy panto, with plenty of singing, dancing, acting and not to forget the back stage crew antics that make this production such an enjoyable experience.
The director Andrew Timmiss, from Aycliffe says, “I joined the group in 1995 to help with the sound and lighting, just for one show to help the group out, and have loved every minute of every year I have been involved since, made many new friends and experienced the amazing buzz you get when appearing on the stage. We are based in Shildon but have many members who live all around Co. Durham including quite a few from Aycliffe.”
So if you are 18 or over and like the idea of joining our next production, please come along to the Shildon Civic Hall on Thursday 19th June at 7.30pm and join our theatrical family or phone 01325 313363 / 01388 774838 for more info.
Dick Whittington will be stages in November 2014.
