This project has really taken off, many thanks to those who have responded.
The Nursing homes really appreciate you showing how much you care for those feeling a little lonely and left out. It does not take much to brighten up someone’s life, just write a few sentences about yourself and ask the person if they would not mind you writing to them (usually once a month). Give them your address, please do not pass on your phone number as this intrudes on your privacy.
Address it to “A Pen Pal” and whichever Nursing Home you prefer. There are seven in the town and the addresses are below:

You may like to post it yourself through their letter box, do not stick the envelope down, just tuck it in, as licking it can possibly pass on a virus. You probably will get an answer, please do not be downhearted if you do not, some people like their privacy, just keep trying and try not to be put off.
