Dear Sir,
Not only is cycling on the pavement dangerous for pedestrians, but also illegal.
If the pavement is NOT a shared cycle and pedestrian path or a designated cycle path, then the cyclist should not be on it.
I can appreciate young people and children using the pavement, as they don’t have the experience or ability to ride safely on the road, but regarding adults they should.
There has been a number of incidents where pedestrians have been hit by cyclists, or forced to step off the pavement onto the road, which is where the cyclist should be, not the pedestrian.
If you are a cyclist, then please consider pedestrian safety and ride on the road.
