This year the charity has major plans to raise the remainder of the £410,000 target which will enable the complete redevelopment of the Hydrotherapy Pool at the charities headquarters in Newton Aycliffe.

The campaign has the backing of the public from across the north who use the pool to help with recovery, pain relief and rehabilitation more than 7000 people a year currently access the facility without the need for a Doctors referral.

The 20 year old pool now unfortunately breaks down on a regular basis, the new plans include significantly enlarging the pool adding state of the art sensory features, lighting, improved changing rooms and upgraded lifting and hoist equipment.

The 110 strong staff team at Pioneering Care Partnership and dedicated volunteers are on a mission in 2019 to reach out to the community it serves via its 4 locations in Newton Aycliffe, Durham, Sunderland and Stockton with an exciting calendar of events which feature exciting challenges, events and activities all with health and wellbeing at their core.

Speaking about the year ahead, Carol Gaskarth, Chief Exec said. “We plan to raise the funds by creating lots of events that encourage people to take part and by doing so improve their own wellbeing, health and fitness. We have so much planned that we have created a calendar of events for all ages and abilities, and, all have health and wellbeing at their core, some events will have the opportunity to raise sponsorship, others will simply request a donation, everyone is welcome to get involved”.

Newton News are supporting the campaign as a corporate sponsor, helping to spread the word and keeping the community up to date with events news.
