Palram DPL held an Open Day on Sunday 14th July to celebrate the Group’s 50th Anniversary and to show the history of Palram DPL and the Group’s vision for the future. The Aycliffe site was the first Palram acquired outside of Israel in August 1992 and celebrated 20 years in 2012. At the time they had one production line and one factory unit. Since then Palram have grown to 7 production lines in 4 factory units.
The Open Day was for employees, friends & families, and 250 people attended the event which included a bouncy castle, play area and face painting for the children. There was also a caricature artist on site and a variety of food served from 11am onwards.
There was an exhibition / film which detailed the past 50 years of Palram and its aims for the future. The company opened up a productions line in the factory so that visitors could see it in action, from the initial resin used to manufacture the plastic right through to the finished plastic sheeting product.
Palram is an Israeli owned company with its UK Head Office based in Doncaster with a site in Sheffield (Century Plastics). Palram is a global leading manufacturer of semi-finished extruded thermoplastic sheets, panel systems and finished products. Here in Durham we produce PVC sheeting which is used in various industries including agriculture, printing and advertising, construction and architecture. The plastic sheets are used in the making of industrial roofing and DIY products.
They have a large warehouse on site and a factory with 7 working production lines. Palram also has production, warehouse and marketing offices in various locations across the globe including Europe, Asia, the Middle-East, Australia, China and the USA.
