Pioneering Care Partnership’s (PCPs) longest running service, Options, are organising their annual Summer Festival on Thursday, 17th August 12-4pm at the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe.
Options promotes independence, choice, control and social inclusion to local disabled adults. It runs Monday to Friday and members take part in activities including daily living skills, adult education sessions, confidence and self-esteem building, healthy living workshops and community activities.
The festival has been organised by the Option’s members, who are also fundraising for new resources and activities. The day will include a bungee run, bouncy castle, penalty shootout, police demonstration, face painter, tombola, afternoon tea, stalls and carnival games.
Members are also rehearsing routines for a sponsored Flash Mob which will take place at different times throughout the event.
A Flash Mob is where a group of people assemble suddenly in public and perform a dance for a short period of time and then disperse into the crowd when the music finishes. The Options Social Club takes place every Thursday evening and they will host the after party which includes a BBQ and disco from 5:30-8pm bringing the festival to a close.
Everyone is welcome and it’s free to attend and is sure to be a brilliant day. If you would like to book afternoon tea at £4pp or the BBQ at £3 a ticket in advance, please contact Options on 01325 321234 or email options@pcp.uk.net
