During the May local elections, Aycliffe Labour candidates made a promise that, if reelected, they would “provide financial support to allow local organisations to host DLI Outreach Sessions”. The elected Labour and Conservative Councillors are now happy to fulfil this promise to any community group on the town which wishes to book a session with the DLI. A typical session might last an hour, and includes a lively presentation and hands-on interaction with DLI artefacts.
We imagine that this offer will be of interest to ladies groups youth organisations and ‘Buddies’ groups, who organise schedules of meetings and presentations. Any group interested in hosting a DLI session should contact, in the first instance, Cllr john.clare@durham.gov.uk, who will put you in touch with the DLI to arrange the date and organise payment. County Councillors Eddy Adam, Jim Atkinson, John D Clare, Scott Durham, Kate Hopper, Paul Howell, Sarah Iveson.
