I wanted to correct correspondent John Snowball from his statement regarding the former Ayckley Heads Police Headquarters, which he claimed had lasted ‘hundreds of years’!
If John had done his history check, before going off half cocked, he’d have known the old HQ was opened 31st January 1969. Indeed, Sir Robert Peel only founded the first official Police Force in 1829. Perhaps John is thinking of the reign of Henry VIII?
