The County Durham Environment Awards 2013 are now open for nominations.

The awards, now in their 24th year, are held to recognise and reward the efforts of individuals and organisations whose work has improved and enhanced the environment in County Durham.

Nominations for the 11 categories are being accepted until Friday, July 12. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony which will be held in October.
