The recent Great North Run may have saw the millionth finisher, but it was just another day at the office for John Burnside who has now completed every GNR since the event’s inauguration back in 1981 and his excellent time of 1h:40m:39s proves he hasn’t slowed down over the years.
Mark Wade was first home for the club and his time of 1:26:42 shows he is well on his way to following in his father’s footsteps and Justin Hindmarch’s time of 1:40:07 was the quickest he’s done on this course.
Next to cross the line was Sandra Collins in 1:47:37, followed by Dean Barclay in 1:48:19 and Graeme Miles in 1:49:22.
Clare Rose was the next lady home in 1:54:01, followed by Naomi Kellett in 1:55:06 and Angela Barrett in 1:57:00.
Finally, Dianne Savage, who is more at home in triathlons, was pleased with her time of 2:13:00.
