A successful Newton Aycliffe-born businesswoman is bringing her rapidly expanding company back to the town. Supply teaching agency SupplyMatch Recruitment has just moved into St Cuthbert’s House after outgrowing its previous offices in Durham.
Managing Director Gail Anderson said: “By moving operations to such a well-known part of Newton Aycliffe, we are ideally located for growth and to welcome new and established staff.
“We already place staff into several schools in the local area so it seemed an ideal location for the next phase of our development.”
Another former Aycliffe resident, Nicola Turnbull, has recently joined SupplyMatch as a recruitment consultant and part-time administration manager, Kim, goes full time from September. SupplyMatch Recruitment has found work for hundreds of teachers, cover supervisors and support staff in North East schools and colleges.
Gail, who attended Sugar Hill Primary and Woodham Comprehensive, said: “Things were already getting cramped in the Durham HQ before our expansion plans – moving everything to St Cuthbert’s House means we have space to grow. I also thought it was important to bring something back to the town where I was born and my parents still live. We are now able to offer unparalleled training and support for people at any stage of their careers – whether they have decades of classroom experience or taking their first steps into teaching. We really love the idea of being able to help more people from Aycliffe and the surrounding areas get fulfilling jobs in education.
“Our staff have CPD courses made available to them when they sign up. We also offer step by step support to graduates applying for PGCE courses.”
SupplyMatch Recruitment recently organised a coaching session for Byerley Park pupils by Aycliffe-born professional footballer Ross Turnbull. They also donated hundreds of pounds worth of books to schools in the town as part of World Book Day.
