Durham Wildcats are excited to announce an exclusive partnership with Newton News. The Wildcats are County Durham’s top basketball team, competing out of Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre. The team plays in the British Basketball League (BBL) the highest level of basketball in Britain. The Wildcat pack have gone from strength to strength in their three year history, qualifying for the play-offs for the first time in the 2013/14 season, and are looking to continue to reach new heights. The league may have grown to 13 teams for the 2014/15 season, but the pride of County Durham are determined to continue their relentless march up the BBL table and are targeting a top six finish.
With the support of an ever-growing fanbase the Wildcats will seek to turn Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre into a formidable Wildcat Lair across the 19 home-game season. Tickets for games are £7 for adults, £5 for children and guarantee you seat-gripping end-to-end action with the world’s most popular indoor sport.
As a community focussed club, having a strong relationship with the local newspaper for Newton Aycliffe is incredibly important for the Wildcats, and we are delighted to be able to announce this partnership between Newton News and the Wildcats.
Quentin Sloper, Wildcat’s Chairman said: “Newton Aycliffe has been central to the Durham Wildcats since before we were in the BBL, and we are delighted to be able to formalise an exclusive partnership with the Newton News. We know that this relationship will help to ensure that the public of Newton Aycliffe know that they are right at the heart of the Durham Wildcats.”
Newton News Assistant Editor, Paul Howarth said “When I received a call from Durham Wildcats wanting to create a partnership with Newton News we were delighted to get involved in supporting another great local team. You can read about all the Wildcats games, home and away, first in the Newton News and view some of the action on our new website.”
