As we say farewell to January, your local WI has lots organised as we move from the darker months into the lighter ones. It may still be chilly, but the daylight hours are noticeably longer. Our guest speaker this month (11th February) is Paul Howell on the topic of ‘Westminster and How it Works – My Time at the Big House’. In March we will be advised, by Durham Police on ‘Cyber Security’ and in April we will hold our AGM.
As usual, December 2024 was a very busy time for Newton Aycliffe WI, with coach excursions to Leyburn Christmas Fair, The Word at South Shields for the History Wardrobe, Christmas Lunch at The Burtree Inn and, of course, our Christmas Party with a delicious Christmas buffet and entertainment for the evening.
We are planning our Spring and Summer excursions and details will be made available to our members in due course.
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm in St. Clare’s church hall in the town centre. There is no need to be lonely as a WI member, come and join us, all women are welcome.
If you have any questions or queries please contact our President, Christine Robinson, on 07981 992686.
