January is here and fills us with hope,
A New Year begins and we know we can cope,
We’ve learned to appreciate life anew,
We take time to ‘smell the coffee,’
Enjoy the view.
Stop on our socially distanced walk,
To say hello and have a talk.
Wave to our neighbours,
as they clear snow from their path,
Giving the children some fun and laugh,
As they sit on their sleds and shout with glee,
Just as childhood is meant to be,
Spring is coming and the bulbs will pop through,
Filling us with hope anew,
The circle of life continues on,
And the human spirit remains so strong,
We’re being taught to enjoy life’s small things,
There is still so much to make our hearts sing.
