Sunday 23rd of March saw the start of a new racing season for the multi-sport athletes of Aycliffe Tri Club. Four of the clubs Triathletes travelled to Stokesley to compete in the 5k run 35k cycle 5k run Duathlon. Weather conditions were kind to the team with bright sunshine and just a few head winds along the bike route.
First home was Graham Aitkins in an excellent time of 1hr 44min followed closely by Gareth Elkin in 1hr 56 In the same category Martin Sedgwick came home in 2hr 04min fantastic times for the 3 men.
Wendy Bake the club’s only lady racing was next home with a time of 2hrs 10mins. This was the first time Wendy had competed at Stokesley and she thoroughly enjoyed the well organised event.
All in all a very successful start to the clubs racing calendar.
Aycliffe Tri Club are going from strength to strength and have many races planned for 2014, which we will keep you updated with here. The club currently have vacancies for new members and are keen to invite everyone from novices too hardened athletes from any sporting background to take up this ever growing sport of Triathlon.
The clubs team of experienced and qualified coaches deliver Running, Cycling and Swimming Sessions every week and are there to give advice and support to club members.
When you join Aycliffe Tri Club as well as becoming part of a friendly supportive club you will also receive your first session free.
