Residents Hope Parking Problem is Solved
Following a positive meeting with Humphrey Close residents, Aycliffe Road Management and School Safety (ARMSS) have gained a success in reducing the inconvenience that residents suffer when pupils and parents drop off and pickup children at Woodham Burn Primary School. Working in partnership with Durham County Council and supported by Councillors Eddy Adams and Kate Hopper, Councillors Paul Kjenstad and Chris Wheeler, from Great Aycliffe Town Council, had the road marked out in front of the school gates as a “No Parking Zone”, with a restriction in parking imposed from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. This will be monitored, over time, to see whether an improvement in pupil safety and a reduction in car parking congestion, for residents, has been achieved. Failing this ARMSS will push for Humphrey Close to be made into a residents’ parking area only. Councillors Paul Kjenstad and Chris Wheeler GATC.
