Dear Sir,
As you are probably aware, we have recently founded a new Environmental Group to protect the Pond, Wildlife, Fauna and Flora at the old Munitions site on the Great Aycliffe Way.
Steve Cooper the Works and Environmental Manager on the Town Council has been a wonderful contributor to our cause and has assisted us fully, which has been greatly appreciated by us all. Steve has recently employed the local Probation Service to tidy up the area and paint our old Portacabin, which houses our equipment to keep both the Pond and surrounding area clean.
I have had a meeting with the Durham Community Action Organisation in Spennymoor who are helping us with our constitution and advice on funding the project. This is 100% voluntary and at present we have about 14 active members.
We would like to show and speak with the local community of our progress and future plans, and we will be having our first full meeting on 19th September 2019, where we will be electing the full Committee and Trustees. I will be putting myself forward as Secretary but the rest of the Committee and Trustees need to be formally voted in to assist with the constitutional rules we need to abide by.
Any interested parties can attend the meeting at 6.45pm at the Neville Village Hall on 19th September 2019, which is anticipated to be no longer than an hour.
Kind regards and thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
Clive Taylor-Sholl
Newton Aycliffe Nature Park Committee Secretary
