Rev. Debbie Loughran is the new Curate for the Parish of Great Aycliffe (St Clare’s, St Andrew’s, St Elizabeth’s and St Francis).
Originally from Liverpool Debbie studied at Cranmer Hall, Durham University and was Ordained in June 2014 in Durham Cathedral.
She is Married to Alan who is a Porter at St John’s College, Durham University and they have two boys aged 16 and 9.
Prior to taking up the post in Great Aycliffe Debbie lived in Liverpool and her career included working as an Accounts Manager. She then became an Ofsted registered Childminder and owned a shop.
Debbie enjoys knitting, cross stitch, reading and dog walking.
Her first impression of Newton Aycliffe was a feeling of enterprise, growth and anticipation, with people who are very warm and welcoming, friendly and cheerful. “It’s easy to get lost around the area but I am slowly learning the road layout! I am excited to be part of the parish and looking forward to see what God has in store for me, the family, the churches and Great Aycliffe as a whole” Said Debbie.
