Dear Sir,
Last week’s letter in the Newton News from my colleague, Paul Howell, explained the boundary changes taking place at the General Election. Simply put, those readers of Newton News who live inside the Borough of Darlington will no longer be part of the Sedgefield constituency, but now part of an enlarged Darlington Parliamentary Constituency.
For the past four years I have been the MP for Darlington and, as the Conservative Candidate for the enlarged Darlington Constituency, I have been getting out into this large rural area which is almost five times bigger than the town of Darlington.
Visiting the Auction Mart, multiple farms, enjoying an ice cream at Archers, helping on litter-picks, attending Parish Council Meetings and delivering surveys and newsletters in every Parish from Piercebridge to Summerhouse, from Brafferton to School Aycliffe, and everywhere in between. This beautiful part of our area is a joy to be in, but it is not without its concerns and issues, be it broadband, rural crime or road surfacing works.
Should I be elected on 4th July, I look forward to getting stuck into being part of the solution to these issues, working hard for you, as I have for the town over the last four years.
Yours faithfully,
Peter Gibson
Parliamentary Candidate for Darlington.
