Greenfield Arts have been working with Greenfield Community College across both campuses to create a new feature for both reception areas and celebrate the merge of the two sites.
The artworks have been made from many small elements created by all staff and students that create one whole final piece. Visual Arts classes at the two campuses worked with professional artist Vicky Holbrough to explore materials, design and create the elements of the artwork. The students have shared their ideas and plans with the rest of the school at each site, giving each student at the school the opportunity to contribute an element to the artworks, celebrating the strength of working together as a team.
Vicky Holbrough is an experienced artist, based in Darlington, who has created artworks which are on display in public locations across the region. Her work has often focussed on exploring materials and multiples, a strength which has been utilised to great effect with these artworks!
The two artworks (“Flourish” and “Synergie”) are now finished, installed and visible to staff, students, parents and other visitors to the school in the 2 reception areas – a visually stunning representation of the creativity and strength of the school to be enjoyed by all.
