This weekend (29 October) a new purpose-built care home will open its doors to the public for the first time at its open day in Newton Aycliffe.
The 58 bedroom, purpose-built Helen McArdle Care home is located on Central Avenue in the town’s centre, and will employ over 50 staff from the local area. The home will provide residential, dementia and respite care, and has been designed to offer a unique living space, purpose-built to ensure that residents have a high quality of life and that they receive the very best care. Facilities include: ensuite bedrooms with shower and some with doors out into the garden, a hair and beauty salon, a community room and beautiful landscaped gardens.
Heading up the team at St. Clare’s Court is Andrea Blades, who has extensive experience of managing care homes, she said: “I am thrilled to be managing St. Clare’s Court and I am excited to have been given the opportunity to commission my first new care home. We have received a really warm welcome from everyone in the community and I am really looking forward to meeting everyone at the open day.”
The St. Clare’s Court open day is this Saturday between 12pm and 4pm.
“We welcome everyone to come and have a tour around our new home and to find out about our plans for the future. I have a great team behind me at St. Clare’s Court and we can’t wait to welcome our first residents.”
Upcoming community events at St. Clare’s Court includes monthly coffee mornings, a Christmas Fair and an Elf Day to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
