The Neighbourhood & Response teams, working out of Newton Aycliffe, have been busy responding to a variety of incidents across the area over the past week, here’s a brief update of what has been going on:
Officers from the Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out plain clothed patrols during the night. We’ve had some great results and a full list of them is on our Facebook page.
An FPN was issued following a report of a vehicle causing an obstruction on Lowery Road.
A male has been arrested following a report of arson in Morrison Close on Thursday morning.
Sgt. Boyd attended the Shopwatch meeting on Tuesday morning, engaging with our local shopkeepers.
Speedwatch checks were completed on Saturday afternoon on Woodham Way and the A167 next to Aycliffe Village. Out of 58 vehicles on Woodham Way, four vehicles were speeding. Zero vehicles were found to be speeding on the A167.
Further checks on the A167 on Sunday afternoon saw six vehicles speeding out of 319 vehicles that passed in a one hour period.
On Saturday, a male was arrested for a malicious communications offence and transported to custody. The male was then charged with the offence and will appear in court shortly.
A female was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning for assaulting an emergency worker and transported to custody.
Also on Sunday morning, a male was arrested for failing a roadside breath test following an RTC.
