The Neighbourhood & Response teams, working out of Newton Aycliffe, have been busy responding to a variety of incidents across the area over the past week, including Concerns for Safety, Missing Persons, Shoplifting, Domestic Incidents and Harassment.
On Monday afternoon, a male was arrested for exposure and transported to Darlington custody. A prolific shoplifter was arrested on Friday and charged, 11 shoplifting offences and has been remanded to court.
Members of the Neighbourhood Team attended Aycliffe Village Primary School to continue this year’s carousel sessions, delivering talks on Crime & Consequences, Bullying, Internet Safety and Anti-Social Behaviour. Enquiries are ongoing following a report of two break ins at two units on Aycliffe Business Park.
A male has been charged with going equipped to steal and handling stolen goods. Response officers have been investigating a report of a stolen motorbike, and a male was spotted with the stolen bike by members of the public. The male was duly arrested and will attend court in due course.
A female has been reported for a public order offence after using threatening words and behaviour towards ambulance staff who were dealing with an emergency incident.
A male has been arrested for a number of offences including public order, criminal damage and possession of a bladed article, following several incidents in the town centre. The male has been released with bail conditions whilst further enquires are underway.
PC Crawford has issued a Traffic-172 to a male who drove off following an RTC.
Speedwatch checks were conducted on Woodham Way on Saturday afternoon. Forty three vehicles passed through the speed check during this time, with seven vehicles going over the speed limit.
