Hello to everyone reading the Newton News, a quick weekly synopsis of what we’ve done this week to tackle issues in the area.
On Wednesday 9th February the neighbourhood team headed into Vane Road Primary School to do some work with the years 5 and 6 based around Anti-Social Behaviour, Cyber-Bullying and Crime and Consequences. The years 5 and 6 were a pleasure to work with and the Corn Flake tart and custard went down lovely!
On Thursday 10th February, through local intelligence the local beat team were able to recover a stolen motorbike from a farmers field in Middridge. Officers are working harder than ever to target harden those affected by those thinking its acceptable to take what is not theirs.
On Friday 11th February, one male was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. Officers were first on scene to a incident where a male crashed into a parked vehicle. The vehicle was recovered and all appropriate details were given to those affected.
On Sunday 13th February, one male was arrested on suspicion of burglary and numerous breaches on their Criminal Behaviour Order. Enquiries are ongoing around the burglaries to identify other suspects involved.
On Monday 14th February, officers conducted a Herbert protocol for a local male suffering with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. The Herbert protocol helps those suffering with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, as if they ever go missing as it gives officers the knowledge to find them quicker. If you know anyone that would benefit from one of these please contact the beat office or a local PCSO.
On Tuesday 15th February, officers from the beat team went in to St. Mary’s Primary School to work with the years 5 and 6, again based around Anti-Social Behaviour, Cyber-Bullying and Crime and Consequences. The years 5 and 6 engaged well and got a treat of seeing Jet and Ben, the police dogs, at the end.
