By PCSO Steven Kipling

Hi everyone, PCSO Steven Kipling here, this week with your weekly Newton News update.
It’s been a busy week over at the Neighbourhood Policing Team, where we have executed a warrant and have also assisted in the arrest of a prolific shoplifter who was remanded in custody.
Further to that, the team have also assisted and located a young missing person in the area, a great result!
Further to PC Booth’s appeal last week, can I please ask parents of young people to make sure you know where your children are, as we have had reports of youths causing problems into the early hours of the morning.
I have also awarded an ACE Award to a young gentleman who had taken it upon himself to buy a litter picker and pick up a large amount of rubbish from the town centre and other areas to keep our town tidy – many thanks to McDonalds & ROF 59 for supporting this fantastic initiative and a massive well done to this youngster, brilliant work!
PCSO Button and myself will also be in attendance at a Family Fun Day at Junction 7 on Friday 27th August, we look forward to seeing you there!
Lastly, if you have a spare minute, please consider signing up to “Keep in the Know”, which is our online messaging service where we send out local alerts to keep you up to date of what is happening in the area. It’s a completely free service, and you can receive regular crime updates, road closure updates and you can see what the Newton Aycliffe Neighbourhood Team is up to. To register yourself please visit www.keepintheknow.co.uk for a simple sign up.
