The Under 13 Girls were away at St. Cuthberts on Saturday. Two evenly matched sides enjoyed a good battle. Chances were few and far between for both teams and two quick goals in the first half, saw the girls go in at half time 2-0 behind. Pushing forward in the second half, the girls tried hard to break down the defence, to no avail, and in the final few minutes, St. Cuthberts broke away and nicked a third goal. Well done girls and look forward to next week.

Under 7 Eagles were in action against Plains Farm Green who played some great football giving them the edge over us the result being a loss 5-1. They did play different football to us, using a permanent, tall physical centre half who remained quite static defensively which did not allow our Eagles to attack in their usual way. Everyone in our team played fantastic. Will got on the score sheet, well done Eagles.
Newton Aycliffe Hawks travelled to 21st All Stars Delta. On a heavy but playable pitch the Hawks passed the ball around and were working hard off the ball to regain possession. The boys scored early on, but the whistle went for offside. Delta scored a good goal on the counter to take the lead. The Hawks kept their head and continued to pass the ball around. The lads were creating lots of chances but the Delta keeper was in great form, Ht 1-0. Second half was all Hawks pressure, chance after chance went begging but the boys didn’t lose their head and kept passing the ball really well. The crossbar, post and an inspired goalkeeper kept Hawks at bay, as it felt like it wasn’t going to fall for the boys today, James fired home to make it 1-1. Soon after all the pressure told and Ben smashed the ball home for 2-1. The whistle went a couple minutes later and the Hawks won there first competetive match. What a performance and very well deserved. The parents on the side line went through all emotions but at no stage did the boys feel any pressure and showed this by playing football for the whole game.
