Greatham 3-2 Under 16s (Challenge Cup Semi-Final). Aycliffe took the lead through Jimmy Cameron but Greatham equalised from a corner and soon went 2-1 ahead. Aycliffe fought back and deservably made it 2-2 before HT when Corey Denton fired home. Sadly, a needless free kick in stoppage time floated over everybody’s head and under the bar into the net. Man of the Match went to Lewis Coatsworth.
Under 15 Falcons hosted Great Ayton. A Danny Walker top corner free kick made it 1-0. Ayton equalised with a shot from distance then took the lead though sloppy defending. Second half – much like the first, saw both sides having chances to score but it was Ayton who hit a third. With 5 to go the Falcons pushed hard but GA broke and scored 4-1. Andrew Matthews then pushed forward and let fly with a rocket into the top corner from 40 yards. Final score 2-4.
The Under 13s travelled to Great Ayton. A tight game, although we enjoyed the lions share of the ball, we failed to make it count but a much improved performance from last week. Chloe Ryan netted from close range in the first half. 2-1 to the hosts’
Under 13 Girls hosted Boldon Girls in a tight contest and had more possession in a goaless first half. The defence held firm and continued to clear their lines. The second half and all to play for as the Girls took the game to Boldon. A throw in from Becky Potter found Chloe Ryan who converted for 1-0. Courtney Wilson, keen to keep a clean sheet, made save after save. Chloe then added a second to seal the points as the Girls recent good run continues.
Richmond Town Blues 4-5 Under 12 Falcons. The Falcons came back from 4-1 down in an unbelievable last 15 mins against a team higher in league. A Hat-Trick from Cole Harrison, and a brace from Cameron Cook sealed what was a spirited performance from all 10 lads involved. Manager Darren Williams’ was understandably delighted and heaped praise on all the Falcons! Jay Williams won Man of the Match (by the opposition) for an awesome display as stand in Goalkeeper.
Under 11 Falcons were away to Normanby. The defence played well snuffing out Normanby counter attacks.
Half time 0-0. Second half saw a corner flicked on by Alfie Nichol-Brown and superbly headed in by Tom Jasper, 1-0. Normanby equalised via a corner, the ball was turned in by a Falcons player 1-1. Kieran Gillham almost won it with a cracking volley. Will shaded MOTM for a dominant midfield display first half and a tidy display in goal second half. Final score 1-1.
Under 10 Falcons played Durham Federation. Durham scored first then a Leon cross to Leo made it 1-1. Durham got it together and made it 2-1 at HT. Durham soon made it 3-1. With the clock ticking a chance! and Falcons made it 3-2 game on! Falcons had a change of attitude and drove on. Then a moment of brilliance from Declan and the goal came 3-3 final score. Great game, great team and great support! Declan was man of the match. Keep it up Falcons!!!
The impressive Under 10 Girls v Spraire Lasses. 4 goals from Hattie and 1 from Ocean Tia. Spraire grabbed a consolation goal. Final score 5-1.
Second game v Leam Rangers: UNBELIEVABLE game which at times was difficult to track, early strike from Leam to take the lead, 2 goals from Aycliffe 2-1, Leam equalise before Aycliffe go 4-2, in a blink of an eye it was 5-4. We got to HT 6-5. The second half carried on as we stretched the lead to 8-6 only for Leam to get back to a FT 8-7, goals: Ocean Tia (4) Hattie (3) and Olivia (2). These girls have what it takes, tougher games still to come though!

Second game was hard work. The ball just wouldn’t go in for Ryan Usher up front, Adam Shaw stood firm at the back. 0-0 at half time. The game ended with a 3-0 loss. MOTM Travis Dixon.
Fantastic result away at Wynyard for the Under 8 Eagles. The boys were positive and organised from the kick off and went on to eventually win the game 4-1. A brace a piece for Jayden Jones and Ashton Houlahan. Special mention to Daniel Heaton in goal, who had long periods watching but when needed pulled off some great saves and distributed well.
