National Thank You Day – and to show our appreciation of the many carers who dedicate their lives to loved ones living with dementia, ladies from Aycliffe Village WI performed their version of the song for diners and those enjoying a drink at The County and The Royal Telegraph in Aycliffe Village at lunchtime. It went down brilliantly.
This year there is a special focus on saying thank you to the many people who are caring for dementia sufferers and, at the same time, supporting Music for Dementia, an organisation that wants to make music an essential part of dementia care. Singer Tony Christie is living with dementia and has been keen to share how important music can be to dementia sufferers. He and Sting have recorded a version of Andrew Gold’s Thank You for Being a Friend.
