Despite it snowing on the morning of Saturday 22nd March, Newton Aycliffe Junior Football Club Under 9’s enjoyed a match day experience courtesy of Newton Aycliffe F.C.
A number of players from Newton Aycliffe Juniors under 9’s wrapped up warm and went along to watch Newton Aycliffe FC v Team Northumbria. The under 9’s had the privilege to be club mascots for the day, firstly they walked out at the start of the match with the Newton Aycliffe team and took part in the FA Respect handshake and were then taken to the centre circle where everyone in the ground took part in a minutes applause in memory of Frankie Swinburne who sadly passed away on 24th March 2013.
At half time the Under 9’s had penalty shoot out and we saw some very impressive goals and goal keeping. Well done to the Under 9’s goal keeper Charlie Cayless. The boys had their names read out over the tannoy as they walked up to take their shot on goal.
The Under 9’s would like to thank Newton Aycliffe FC for their Match Day Experience, everyone had a great afternoon. Newton Aycliffe Junior Football Club would also like to wish NAFC every success for the rest of the Season.
In attendance (and pictured) for NAJFC under 9’s, Robert Hillman, Matthew Greaves, Edward Dunn, Matthew Turnbull, Charlie Cayless, Sammy Clark and Ryan-Jay Griffiths.
