Under 8’s Blues travelled to Riverside Juniors Barca, in an energetic performance, Aycliffe played great, with Carter grabbing a hat-trick for the second successive week. Nate (2) and Alex scored further goals. MOTM was Nate for positivity and great midfield play.
Under 8’s entertained Norton and Stockton, with a full squad, Aycliffe were raring to go. Aycliffe pressed forward and applied pressure, in a game full of goals. It was two OG’s and a goal for Cooper for Aycliffe.
Under 9’s Juniors travelled to Bishop St Marys Kings in a thrilling match, Bishop led early on, but Aycliffe continued to pass the ball, and the great play was rewarded with goals from Fletcher, Kian, Zeke, Felix and Lincoln. MOTM went to Kaeson for a brilliant defensive performance.
Under 10’s hosted Prissick Rovers Milan, Aycliffe started very well, making it hard for Prissick. Eddie continued his fine form with two early goals, before excellent saves from Harvey kept the opposition at bay. MOTM went to Eddie for his constant energy and creativity in the final third.
Under 10’s Whites travelled to Redcar Town Lions, the whole team played their part in an impressive performance, with MOTM Archie scoring the goal in a relentless performance.
Under 11’s Blacks, who were supporting the play safe campaign, travelled to face Redcar Town Whites. Redcar started quickly, but Aycliffe eventually found their groove with the goals scored by Alfie S (2), JJ (2), Lucas P and Jack B, who converted a penalty. Goalkeeper Liam B made some extraordinary saves. POTM awarded by the opposition manager was JJ for passing accuracy, hold up play, positioning and great finishing.
Under 11’s Reds played against Billingham Synthonia and had a day to remember. Andrew opened the scoring, before Koa lashed in the second. In the second half, Koa scored two more quick goals for his hat-trick. Jace then sent a lovely through ball to Louie, who slotted in his first goal for Aycliffe. Louie then turned assist maker, setting up two of Charlie’s three goals.
Under 12’s Whites had a day to forget against Washington Junior Swift Oranges in what was a tough assignment with only eight players available. MOTM Oscar scored Aycliffe’s goal.
Under 13’s Juniors welcomed Kader for a fiercely contested cup game. Aycliffe took their league form into the cup, leading comfortably 3-1 at the break thanks to a hat-trick from Jonah. It was not to be Aycliffe’s day though, with Kader coming back to win 4-3.
Under 13’s Whites travelled to Jarrow, with a patched-up team, Aycliffe started slowly, trailing 3-0 after five minutes. Aycliffe kept battling, eventually going down 5-3. The goals were scored by Maxi, Thomas and Albie, who was awarded MOTM for an impressive performance.
Under 13’s Blacks played against Wear United Yellows, Aycliffe come away with a great 4-1 victory with goals from Connor, Alfie and Jack H (2). Mangers POTM was Charlie for his excellent defensive work and Parents POTM was Jack H for a great second half performance.
Under 14’s welcomed Marton FC Royals in the cup, facing a team from four divisions higher, Aycliffe were fired up and never give Marton a chance to settle. After conceding a penalty, Aycliffe dug deep and got their rewards late on when Layton W equalised. The match ended level and went to penalties with Aycliffe winning 4-2, Sam, Zak, Oscar J and Layton all converted. MOTM was shared between Layton W and Trent.
Under 16’s Blacks travelled to Whickham FC. Aycliffe started well, creating chances, before conceding. Jayden’s shot was saved, and Clayton scored the rebound to go in level at the break. In the second half, it was Clayton who scored the match winning goal. MOTM was shared between Tristan and Danny. Aycliffe currently sit proudly at the top of the league.
Under 16’s Whites entertained Darlington United, despite a slow start, Aycliffe led 3-1 at the break, with goals from Ethan, Adam and Clayton. Formation changes saw Aycliffe control of the second half with Lewis, Clayton and Jayden scoring further goals and two more goals apiece saw Ethan and Adam complete their hat-tricks. MOTM, in a great 10-1 win, was Ethan who scored three and assisted three.
Under 23’s won 3-2 away to Sacriston. Leading 1-0 through Sam and dominating much of the game, Aycliffe were dragged into a battle after Sacriston scored two goals to lead 2-1. There were great scenes in the 90th minute though, when Dom scored two goals to give Aycliffe the victory.
