Under 8’s Whites played Leam Rangers Whites, putting in a much-improved performance from the last time the two sides met. New signing Jacob made his debut and Aycliffe performed very well with Seb scoring the goal direct from a corner. The opposition managers POTM was Oscar and the parents POTM was Jacob.
Under 10’s Blacks faced South Park Rangers Greys, away. It was a very entertaining game with great goals scored by both teams. Aycliffe dominated throughout with great passing and movement. The goals were scored by JJ (5), Jack B (3), Alfie S and Grayson A. POTM, who was picked by the opposition manager, was Grayson A for his tireless work, tenacity, and contribution to goals.
Under 12’s Whites travelled to Jarrow, Aycliffe started slow, resulting in Jarrow taking an early two goal lead. Aycliffe then came out fighting and scored four great goals to get the victory. Goals from Max L (2), James and Tyler, who was MOTM for his outstanding performance in midfield.
Under 12’s Juniors faced Northallerton Town Blacks, away, both teams played great football, creating many chances. Aycliffe broke the deadlock with a lovely ball from Daniel putting Shay through to beat the keeper. Leading 1-0 at half time, Aycliffe battled hard, but could not keep the lead eventually going down 2-1. POTM was Will for his effort & constant running in midfield.
Under 13’s played Boro Rangers Lads in the Cup, with the opposition currently sitting top of Division One it proved to be a challenging task. Aycliffe could not progress to the next round of the Cup but battled hard until the end. MOTM was Zach.
Under 14’s entertained Grangetown Boys FC, putting in another outstanding performance to win 6-0. Aycliffe led 3-0 at the break with Blake grabbing two goals and Luke with the other. It was much of the same in the second half with goals form Huey, Luke and Harry. This is now six wins on the bounce for Aycliffe who have the best defensive record in the league.
Under 15’s Whites have written the next chapter in their history book with their first ever Cup win in six seasons. Having lost in the first round of every cup competition since under 9’s, Aycliffe comfortably secured a 5-0 win at home against Seaton Carew. A new formation allowed more creativity, leading 3-0 at half time with goals from Jake C, Noah and Tom. Noah and Tom scored another goal each in the second half to round off a polished performance and secure a spot in the second round. MOTM, was Lewis who was solid and creative from the back all game.
Under 16’s Whites won 1-0 against Pools Youth in the second round of the League Cup. In difficult conditions, Aycliffe stuck to their game plan to go through to the next round. It was the MOTM, Tyler, who scored the goal with the last kick of the game.
