Under 14’s Whites did the double over local long term rivals Darlington Young Bulls, Aycliffe took the game straight to Darlington and attacked from the first whistle. In the second minute a corner for Aycliffe resulted in a goal mouth scramble which Jake fired into the roof of the net. Aycliffe dominated the first half with some great runs down the left wing from Henry but just could not find a second goal. Cue the nervous second half as Darlington pressed but Aycliffe defended hard and would not let them through. A hard-fought victory, a clean sheet, and 3 important points. 1-0 win for Aycliffe. MOTM was Henry.
Under 14’s Whites got back to early season form with a rampant 9-0 win over Ferryhill. Noah scored twice, after coming back from a long injury, Ethan scored two, Jake G scored two, Jake C scored one, as did Taylor. The goal of the night come from centre back Josh on a run through the midfield to fire a top corner rocket from distance. MOTM was keeper Trystan who saved a penalty to keep a clean sheet, a wonderful performance from the whole squad keeps them on track for the title.
Under 15’s Reds travelled to Norton in a big clash, with games in hand keeping Aycliffe in with a chance of winning the league. Aycliffe got off to a flyer, racing in to a 2-0 lead at half time, with goals from Reuben and Kayden. Norton came out of the blocks second half and converted a penalty to make it 2-1. Aycliffe pinned them straight back with a Harry C goal before Norton made it a nail-biting finish bringing it back to 3-2. Aycliffe dug in with a bare 11, clearly on their last legs, but a huge defensive shift held the opposition at bay and Aycliffe ran out 3-2 winners. MOTM was Finley.
Under 15’s Whites drew 2-2 at home to Spraire lads, with Brad and McKenzie scoring Aycliffe’s goals. Aycliffe led 2-0, but unfortunately Spraire lads scored two in the last ten minutes including a last-minute equaliser. Aycliffe played well on a tricky pitch. MOTM was McKenzie.
