544 MPs delegated the referendum decision to the people, then 496 (76%) of them voted to invoke Article 50 – without conditions.
Over 80% of them were elected on a Manifesto which promised to respect the referendum outcome.
By misusing their democratic privileges to leave us half in/half out of the EU they are the very antithesis of democracy.
Firstly, Boris is NOT a dictator – Theresa May was “unelected” – John Major was “unelected” Gordon Brown was “unelected” and David Cameron was “unelected” first time round. Unelected in the sense that when the Government went to the polls in a GE, none of these people was the sitting PM. Secondly, people may want to try to understand the basic Constitution of our land. Parliament is NOT Sovereign. The Queen is NOT Sovereign. Only the people are Sovereign. The People “lend” the Sovereignty to both the latter to implement their wishes. To say Boris has “no mandate” for a clean Brexit is total rubbish. Read the Tory Manifesto on which the last Tory Government was elected.
Back to the British Constitution….. When we say “SOVEREIGN” we are talking about the power to give the governance of this country to another power (in this case 27 other EU member countries) unless we have been defeated in war.
If the Queen was guilty of this, the Parliament would have the power to remove her. Similarly, if the Parliament is guilty of this, the Queen has the power to either prorogue or dissolve Parliament completely. This is part of the Oath she swore at her Coronation. It is actually her duty, in the protection of her country, to prorogue Parliament. There are elements of Parliament who have banded together and openly declare this is for the purpose of Stopping Brexit altogether. Their plans have included, taking over Parliament, Revoking Article 50, using Legislation to stop Brexit altogether and using legislation to stop a “no deal” Brexit – I need hardly say that the two latter are the same since Brexit is “no deal”.
All these actions according to our Constitution are treasonous and anti-democratic because they seek to thwart the will of the Sovereign People and because they seek to give the whole and complete power and governance of this country to 27 other countries whilst having absolutely no influence or say over what laws, what taxes, what defence policies, what immigration policies, what judicial policies, what system of basic law is used in this country, the limits of our international fishing waters, our agricultural policies, our education system and its curriculum, who we can trade with and who we can’t and what tariffs and charges are set etc how much money we have to pay them and when. In fact, every single thing that happens in this country will be decided by 27 other countries and we will have NO SAY WHATSOEVER. it will also hand over the control and command of our armed forces in total plus our nuclear capability and weapons to these 27 other countries to decide how they are used and for what. Most elected MP’s are, in the main, clueless about most of this. The ones at the top, agitating for the surrender of this country to 27 others, are NOT… like Phil Wilson for example. They know exactly what they are doing and if you want to know why, just follow the money. . . Look at how they have already profited from our membership of the EU and how the gap between rich and poor has now become absolutely ludicrous.
