Our local MP, Phil Wilson, gave up time from his busy schedule to visit the AARMS (Aycliffe Alcohol Recovery Mutual Support) group who wanted to raise awareness of the diminishing help and support currently available for people experiencing alcohol related issues.
After hearing testimonials from AARMS members about the services available locally at the present time, he offered to take the issues to a higher level and also to raise this with a local GP and potentially the Health Minister.
The group will be meeting with Phil Wilson MP again in the New Year to discuss any progress made.
