Railway Modellers from as far away as Whitchurch in Shropshire will be bringing their layouts to the seventh annual exhibition organised by the Rotary Club of Newton Aycliffe to be held at the Youth Centre, Burn Lane Newton Aycliffe (opposite Tesco) on Saturday 19th March 2016
Nineteen layouts have been confirmed in a variety of scales from “n” to “1” depicting railways from Great Britain and Europe and from Edwardian splendour to modern image. A special visitor will be a “Thomas the Tank Engine” layout.
The exhibition also has attracted nine trade stands and presentations from three preservation societies.
Doors open at 10am. Refreshments will be available all day and there will be a tombola, free car parking and full disabled access will be provided.
Entry is £4 for adults, 50p for accompanied children and £3 for concessions.
“With six months still to go, it’s clear that our next exhibition could well be one of our biggest and best yet” said Rotarian John Burrows this week.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the “Heel and Toe” charity caring for children suffering from Cerebral Palsy across County Durham and Darlington.
