How a love of Volkswagen Campervans turned into a 5,000 person festival
The award-winning festival, Mighty Dub Fest is an annual VW & Music Festival, this year the event will be held on Fathers Day weekend 16th-18th June 2023 on Alnwick Castle Pastures. The weekend will see a whole range of festival-themed activities, from silent discos, trade stands to 4 stages of live music. This festival has it all.
But what exactly is a “VW” Festival? Imagine a field of campervans new and old, like-minded people with a love of the outdoors, camping and Volkswagens, from old vintage Beetles and 1960’s Splitty’s to the most modern T6’s on the market today. It’s not all about the VDubs though, Mighty Dub Fest is due to host the best line-up Alnwick Pastures has yet to see with the likes of ReLoaded, Discography and Big Red and the Grinners and a whole host of other amazing acts that the Mighty Dub Fest team know will blow you away on their main stage.
So what exactly is on during the weekend?
The main stage will host over 18 bands during the weekend accompanied by an acoustic stage which will blow you away with Tom Dibb’s famous Live Lounge Stage, if you’re ready to chill out the acoustic circle is the place to be. They even have a family entertainment tent with none stop entertainment from quiz’s, Slaters Fairground, bingo to kid’s discos. Your little ones will certainly be entertained all weekend long.
Mighty Dub Fest will also host a wide range of festival traders with 70+ stalls already booked in there’s plenty to see and do all weekend long. And get ready for the very best that the Nort East has to offer with over 10 street food units, there really are so many vendors to choose from.
Mighty Dub Fest is a festival for all, with non-stop entertainment. With a whole weekend of activities from the likes of dog shows, circus skills, fire shows, magicians, family fun, silent discos and none stop live music as well as all the VW’s.
