Once again, Middridge joined the Durham.County Council ‘Spring Clean’ initiative and on Sunday 29th March, all five of the Parish Councillors and our Clerk, along with six volunteer villagers, did a wonderful job of cleaning up the litter from around our beautiful village.
We are very fortunate to have considerate residents who don’t drop litter but unfortunately, we suffer from motorists travelling along the busy road who throw out everything from cigarette ends and packets, drinks cartons and bottles and food packaging. As we now possess our own litter grabbers, we are more than ever determined to beat the litter louts and keep this Conservation Village in pristine condition.
