We are asking your readers to run the Virgin London Marathon 2013 for Meningitis UK to help us stamp out the deadly disease.
We were only allocated a few guaranteed places (Golden Bond) and humbly ask kind-hearted people with or seeking an independent place to take on the 26-mile challenge on April 21st for us.
Everyone who runs for us will be part of the Meningitis Musketeers team, with the motto ‘All 4 One and One 4 All’ – to highlight the devastating fact that meningitis can kill in four hours and the importance of our “Search 4 A Vaccine Campaign”.
Full support will be given and everyone who participates will receive a free running vest or T-shirt, and a handy information pack including hints on how to prepare.
Our sole focus is to fund the development of vaccines and other methods of preventing this devastating disease.
In the absence of a vaccine, we also distribute a range of material to raise awareness of the common symptoms and the need to act quickly, which can mean the difference between life and death.
