Following the untimely death of, Michael Dalton, one of the Pioneering Care Partnership’s longest standing Trustees, a plaque in his honour was unveiled at the Centre he loved, the Pioneering Care Centre.
Friends and supporters including H.M. Lord Lieutenant Mrs Sue Snowdon, The Right Honourable Lord Foster of Bishop Auckland, his wife Lady Anne, Phil Wilson MP, PCP Trustees’ previous and current Chief Executives Jane Hartley and Carol Gaskarth were present to see the memorial take pride of place in the garden.
Carol welcomed Michael’s mum, Mary Dalton to what she described as an intimate and private space for people to reflect on their time with Michael. She explained that, “Michael was an avid supporter of PCP, proud of services we provide and of how successful the Centre has become. His gentle determination and passion for the organisation was unwavering despite periods of illness he gave his time freely, but his commitment was much wider than PCP. He enjoyed being active in Newton Aycliffe, whether as part of the Rotary Club, Town Council or raising funds for other charities; he even completed a 26 mile charity arm pedal ride last year!
Michael is a reminder to us that we can achieve great things if we put our minds to it and we’re pleased to have somewhere in our garden where Mary and Michael’s family or friends can come and think about the special times they’ve shared together.”
