Before handing over the Mayorship to her successor, Councillor Mary Dalton handed out cheques amounting to £4,350 to the charities she raised money for during her year of office. She held various raffles, charity nights and received donations from organisations like the Rotary Club.
Her Son and Consort for her Mayoral year, Michael, also raised £370 for his mother’s chosen charities. He is wheelchair bound, but raised cash by cycling the equivalent of 50 km on a hand bike in the Leisure Centre.
